Meet Debi

Debi provides empathy-based counseling rooted in self‑psychology and accompanies each person on a holistic healing journey that honors physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social-relational needs. She believes the wisdom gained from lived experience helps people cultivate strengths and discover practical skills that support the healing process. Debi specializes in trauma recovery, with particular experience supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and she is comfortable assisting those exploring religious or spiritual trauma and processing grief.

Debi encourages participation in individual and group counseling when it fits a person’s needs, noting that each format offers different benefits and that participation is always the client’s choice. Using a person-centered, person-led approach, she partners with clients to formulate respectful, manageable goals and steps, supporting autonomy so each person regains voice, choice, and empowerment in their healing.

Debi holds a master’s degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Garrett‑Evangelical Theological Seminary and an advanced certificate in Self‑Psychology and Religion from the Center for Religion and Psychotherapy of Chicago. She has worked with survivors of domestic and sexual violence since 2013, is a member of the American Counseling Association, and is ordained in the United Methodist Church.

At this time Debi does not provide couples or family counseling. People wishing to schedule with Debi must choose to participate in counseling without the permission of another person.
