Your choices belong to you. Exploration and hope can carry trauma to healing and a new path for living.

There are benefits and risks to psychotherapy. Due to the nature of discovery, and the often-disturbing content discussed during counseling, uncomfortable and/or unfamiliar emotions may be experienced. On the other hand, living congruent and authentic lives often improves one's relationships, self-esteem, sense of industry and self-determination. Whether discovering solutions to difficult circumstances, resolving inner conflict, working through traumas, or improving relationships and communication, your participation is crucial for positive outcomes to occur.

Faith Based Counseling
Looking towards a higher power
Counseling is hands-on, and you are at the driver’s seat. As your counselor, we would never presume to know you better than you know yourself. Instead, we will walk beside you: never ahead of you. Whether you seek “faith-based counseling,” which has been researched extensively and shown to be a powerful therapeutic tool in the recovery process, or seek “wellness counseling,” with its foundation in the utilization of strengths and resiliency, or a combination of both, our first session is where we lay the groundwork for future sessions. Thereafter, subsequent sessions are where we work to put into practice the learning, tools and strategies called “the building blocks of counseling” leading to the life you seek. Authenticity is necessary. I too am authentic and fully myself in counseling. This may not be for everyone, and it is important to identify if you feel we are a good fit. No need to apologize if your preference is of another relational style. Remember, this is your counseling, and the right fit is the first crucial step.

Telehealth counseling is here to stay. We have discovered its effectiveness in counseling. For many clients, it has provided the ability to receive counseling for the first time. Clients often share how they become so immersed in the session, they forget we are not in office and doing face to face counseling. We believe it speaks to the relationship established, which is proven to be the greatest predictor of positive outcomes in counseling. We can attest to the power of connection with our clients, and how effective eliminating non-essential elements in sessions can produce authenticity and healing over time.
